An Other Productive Weekend

This weekend it was time for a break from GW related models for paining, this time i planned to finish off my Firestorm Armada Fleet and continue my Flames of War Polish army, and i was able to achieve both goals. So here is my finished Firestorm Fleet:

The fleet has yet to see an actual full game but what i have played of it so far has impressed me and i look forward to more games with this system, the rules are compact and easy to understand and the models are cheap, easy to assemble and are fairly easy to paint as well.

These are Polish Soldiers from a Piechoty Company, there are 3 of them in my planned army the rest of which will be arriving in waves over the next few weeks. Once again this is a game system where the models are easy to paint which means i can do armies faster which is always nice.

These two armies signify my branching out from GW games, while i do intend to keep playing both WHFB and 40k (WHFB is still my favorite wargame) i will be paying other games, which will be reported here, so there will be a diversity of content coming.

One final thing, i submitted my Skitterleap list last week. Now i was planning on taking Khorne Demons however things didn't work out there, so i stuck with the good old Wood Elves, and here is what i am taking:

2000 Pts - Wood Elves Roster

Total Roster Cost: 2000

Glade Lord (2#, 301 pts)
   1 Glade Lord, 151 pts = (base cost 145 + Asrai Spear 3 + Shield 3)

1 Armour of Destiny, 50 pts

Dryads (10#, 110 pts)
   10 Dryads, 110 pts = 10 * 11

Dryads (10#, 110 pts)
   10 Dryads, 110 pts = 10 * 11

Eternal Guard (25#, 320 pts)
   24 Eternal Guard, 284 pts = 24 * 11 (base cost 11) + Musician Mus 10 + Standard Bearer Std 10
      1 Eternal Warden, 21 pts
1 Standard of Discipline, 15 pts

Deepwood Scouts (10#, 160 pts)
   10 Deepwood Scouts, 160 pts = 10 * 16 (base cost 13 + Trueflight Arrows 3)

Deepwood Scouts (10#, 160 pts)
   10 Deepwood Scouts, 160 pts = 10 * 16 (base cost 13 + Trueflight Arrows 3)

Deepwood Scouts (10#, 160 pts)
   10 Deepwood Scouts, 160 pts = 10 * 16 (base cost 13 + Trueflight Arrows 3)

Waywatchers (10#, 200 pts)
   10 Waywatchers, 200 pts = 10 * 20

Waywatchers (10#, 200 pts)
   10 Waywatchers, 200 pts = 10 * 20

So there we go, not much change from the Call to Arms list. My experince with Mage Generals conviced me not to have one again and time will tell if that was a smart choice or not. Hopefully my new found trust in Skirmisher units will not be misplaced. Until next time.

  1. As I said the other day really nice stuff man. Although i was wondering, how big would those leaves be when scaled up...

Nice to see another painted fleet at the club, and some more Flames of War too. Keep it up.
