|Skyrim is one of my most loved Fantasy games, its beauty is spectacular.|
One of the things about Fantasy stories is that there is a strong undercurrent of hope, no matter how dark the situation gets there is always hope that said situation will improve, that Honourable, good, decent people will prevail. Some people dont like fantasy for this reason, that good people usually triumph, it can get boring and dull if repeated to often. An i understand that. However that is exactly why i love Fantasy, good people triumph, the darkness is banished and the line There is always hope is often vindicated. I feel like this is lacking in reality and so i find it in fantasy.
To me Fantasy is full of wonder, hope, and courage. Its characters are diverse and showcase both the best and worse of humanity. Its worlds are wonderful places of untouched beautiful wildness, bustling medieval cites and quite countryside hamlets. Its a genre of magic, mystery, heroism and hope. And perhaps most importantly fantasy is a story of good people fighting, struggling and winning, of the darkness constantly being pushed back good decent people and of lands being made safe by the efforts of characters who show the best of human qualities.
If you have reached the end of this post and am wondering why i chose to write it then allow me to explain. Recently i have had to justify my love of fantasy to people who dont like it, these people find it completely dull, repetitive and unrealistic and this post was written as both a counter argument to them and a way of justifying my love of all things Fantasy. At the end of the day its a case of each to their own, but i do think that fantasy is a wonderful genre and that everyone should at least give it a go, they may end up liking it and gaining from it as much as i have. Until next time.
