Runefang Preparations

On the 26/27 of April this month i will be attending Runefang VII. Now the reason why i will be going to this tournament is because it will be using Swedish Comp to restrict what players can take. For those who don know Swedish Comp gives each unit in fantasy a points value. You subtract (or in some cases add) the points value of each unit in your army from 300 and once thats done divide the end result by ten, giving you a number which will be your Swedish Comp value for your army. Power gamy ultra fifthly lists may get a number as low as say 6, and super soft fluffy armies may get a number around 14 -16. For Runefang players arent allowed to bring an army with a SC vaule lower than 11.

Now what does this all mean for me? Well it means that army lists my Wood Elves have issues dealing with simply cant be taken, yet at the same time i can still, take all the normal Wood Elf toys because the Sweds ( aka those who write Swedish Comp) have either taken pity on Wood Elf players or just forgotten we exist. So behold what Swedish allows me to take!

      1 Branch Nymph, 24 pts

Tree Kin (6#, 410 pts)
   5 Tree Kin, 325 pts = 5 * 65
1 Tree Kin Elder, 85 pts

Treeman (1#, 285 pts)
   1 Treeman, 285 pts

Treeman (1#, 285 pts)
   1 Treeman, 285 pts

The Swedish score for this list is 13.9 (although o could be wrong, and if i am please point it out this is my first time using this system so i am likely to miss something). Those who have faced me in past tournament and games will notice a drop in the amount of bows and a rise in the amount of Forest Spirits, notable the 6 Treekin.

Treekin, the key to victory? With 22 strength 5 attack probably
So will tournament provide me with the chance to win big? Who knows. After a long list of failed predictions about who will win games i have given up trying to predict the outcome before actually playing the games. I will say that i have a good chance at winning a few games, and am trying to end up in the top 50% (not that hard when only 15 people are coming), but regardless it should be good.Until next time.

  1. Best of luck. Please post some battle reports.

What is the plan with your Lord? He doesn't seem to really have a place since since there isn't a unit for him to join so I fear he'll just yield General points every game once a cannon draws a bead (post small arms picking of the Stone save.)

    1. Thanks man, and dont worry there will be a full report with more pictures than necessary.

The Highborn is jumping in the Treekin unit, the only reason why he is on a stag (and a wild rider) is so that he can be considered a forest spirit and so can jump in with the Treekin thus making them LD 10 stubborn, me happy and my opponents terrified.

    2. Ah, hadn't thought of that. Does he get Look Out, Sir! since he's a monstrous cavalry or is he still cannon vulnerable?

    3. I think its a reduced LOS, a 4 or 5 plus i would have to look it up to be certain
