|The Best of the Imperial Guard|
I first stumbled upon the series in a hobby shop in wellington where i found (and bought) the second Gaunt's Ghosts Omnibus (called the Saint) and even before i had finished the first book i was sold on the series, in fact it is probably my favorite book series i have read to date. However GW only every published one kit for the Ghosts (back in the 4th ed Guard codex when you could make your own regiment with special rules, and Gaunt was a special character)
|The kit in question|
Despite this i was half way through building my Ork army that i decided to build a Tanith force, and so i ordered the GW kit and a unit of Rangers and thus my dream 40k army was born. And it was with this that i fund myself excited for 40k, planning what i would do with my Tanith (with the Orks there isn't a lot of planning to do besides "Run forward and hit things)
So thats the current state of my 40k hobby. Despite finally finding 2 armies i want to play 40k will always be behind WHFB in terms of excitement for me, at the end of the day i enjoy the WHFB ruleset and the Wood Elf army more than 40k and either of the 40k armies i own. Also WHFB is my competitive wargame, i will never take either the Guard or the Orks to a tournament but i will take the Wood Elves to as many tournaments as i can, and that also explains why i will not do a 2nd WHFB army. As WHFB is my competitive wargame i want to focus on one army to improve with, that and all other WHFB armies have the fatal flaw of not being Wood Elves. Until next time.
